I HAVE DONE SOMETHING....
I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter...the cast-offs of human society.
I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness and betrayal. And I was angry.
"God," I said, "this is terrible! Why don't you do something?"
God was silent for a moment, and then He spoke softly, "I have done something," he replied. "I created you."

ReplyDeleteThis raffle is a great idea! I'm going to have to find out about doing that here...
ReplyDeleteTo all my dear, sweet International followers!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your encouragement and for spreading the word as I'm sure manu of you will have other South African followers who would be able to participate in the raffle or make a donation in kind.
The list of prizes has grown admirably. The tickets are moving, although a little more slowly than we'd initially hoped. It's only the first day, though, so we're holding thumbs it picks up as more people in our area get to hear about it.
OOPS! Sorry, that was meant to read MANY of you... :)
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw this I went back onto today's post and
ReplyDeleteadded the site.......My heart is still hurting for you all ! kt
I hope the raffle goes well! I will spread the word around, who knows?
ReplyDeleteI hope the puppies are doing well. I know they can be a handful when they are so small.
Hi Desiree...my English is not so good i think and i am very tiered at the moment but what is thia all about ??? please tell me??? i do not understand it...happy day love Ria...xxx...
ReplyDeleteHi Karen, Lavi & Ria!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your wonderful encouragement and for taking up the cause in your own countries! It will be a wish come true if it helps animals worldwide through making everyone more aware of the plight of these little unloved souls. The carers in these shelters do so much good with so few resources. They do a very hard job that few of us would be willing to take on.
Big hug to you all!!! xoxoxo
I clicked on the link, but now I see you are aware that it would be quite difficult for someone from another country to buy a ticket. If there was a paypal option, that might make it easier...
ReplyDelete:-)
just a thought, and I have no idea how that works.
Hi Shen!
ReplyDeleteThank you for even considering making a contribution...it is hugely appreciated, but Linda is really wanting everyone to take up the cause in their own areas and countries by making a donation to a rescue shelter in need in their region. It is her fervent wish that Romeo's Wish grows into something worldwide through everyone spreading the word to do something similar.
Thanks that you explain it to me .....now i understand it........love Ria....xxx...
ReplyDeleteHi Desiree. What a gorgeous photo of Romeo. What beautiful eyes he had. I will donate something to our local animal shelter in this area. I suppose it all helps and they do need the money for this very worthwhile cause. Good luck with the Raffle.

ReplyDeleteJust stopping by to say hi. I think what you are doing is fantastic. Have a wonderful Easter.
ReplyDeleteif we each do a little something...in our own way...donating food or toys or blankets...to our local shelter...will help the homeless animals...especially now, in honor of Romeo's life and memory!
ReplyDeletethanks desiree, for giving me that kick in the butt....for getting me motivated to DO something! :)
That is such a lovely photo of Romeo, you can just see the intelligence in that face.
ReplyDeleteI do, Desiree! Every May, a gal in our garden club pots up hundreds of Iris palnts t sell with the proceeds going to build a shelter in our small town. I help publicize it in my garden column. We also have a Animal Faire event each year! Good causes and fun, too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the wishes. Happy Easter to you too! Lots of health and good times with your loved ones! I hope the weather will be mild over there.
